Alcove Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

This beta policy explains the current Alcove prototype and planned beta behavior. It should be reviewed before public store submission.

What Alcove Collects

Alcove may store account details, saved places, invite-completion progress, submitted places, field notes, image metadata, activity logs, friendships, ratings, shared lists, support requests, and aggregate sound metrics when you choose to submit them.

Contacts, Location, Photos, And Sound

Contact matching is optional and starts only after you tap Sync Contacts and grant system permission. Normalized contact email addresses are used for the current account-matching check and are not stored as your address book. Location is used to estimate distance to restorative outdoor spaces. Photos are selected by you for moderator review. Beta sound metrics are opt-in and use the microphone only during a guided Relax session after consent. Alcove calculates aggregate relative dBFS levels, deletes the temporary audio when sampling stops, and lets you review or discard the result. Raw audio is never uploaded.

How Data Is Used

Data helps people discover restorative outdoor spaces, connect with friends, verify completed invite chains for staged feature access, review community submissions, improve Colorado beta content, operate friend activity and shared lists, and respond to beta support requests.

Community Review

Places, photos, field notes, and sound metrics can affect public pages only after moderator review. Pending or rejected submissions do not affect public content. Feature access depends on completed invited friends rather than community submission approval.

Analytics And Errors

Current beta telemetry is console-only unless a hosted analytics provider is added later. Unexpected app errors may create support request records for signed-in beta users with limited diagnostic details. Analytics and crash reporting providers must be disclosed before public launch.

Export And Deletion

The app includes local reset controls, support-queue export and deletion requests, and a guarded synced-account deletion path for Supabase accounts when configured. Approved public community contributions may require retention, anonymization, or removal according to the final public policy.
