Preparing for TestFlight

Help test Alcove before its wider release

Alcove is preparing an initial iPhone beta for about 25 testers. The purpose is to find confusing, inaccessible, inaccurate, or unreliable parts of the experience before a wider release.

What testers will explore

What testers will cover

  • Account creation, sign-in, approval, recovery, export, and deletion.
  • Place discovery, sorting, metric explanations, weather, directions, photos, and corrections.
  • Location permission, Denver fallback behavior, map search, accessibility, and source links.
  • Stars planning, darkness estimates, drive time, conditions, and nighttime safety context.
  • Friends, recommendations, ratings, notes, favorites, shared lists, reporting, and blocking.

What good feedback includes

What makes feedback useful

The most valuable report explains what you expected, what happened, the place or screen involved, and whether the issue affected safety, privacy, accessibility, accuracy, or completion of a task.

Testers should never enter closed areas, rely on Alcove during an emergency, or treat an estimate as a guarantee.

Beta interest

Interested in the first testing group?

The initial beta is intentionally small and invitation-based. Sending an email does not guarantee a spot, but it lets us know what device you use and what perspective you could bring.

Please include:

Your iPhone model and iOS version, your relationship to outdoor recreation, and any accessibility perspective you would like considered. Do not email passwords, identification documents, or unnecessary sensitive information.
