Alcove Terms And Safety
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Alcove helps with outdoor discovery and mindfulness planning. It is not emergency guidance, medical care, or a substitute for official park, weather, transit, or safety information.
Use Good Judgment Outdoors
Conditions change. Check official park rules, closures, weather, smoke, transit, fees, daylight, road conditions, and accessibility details before visiting a place.
Not Medical Care
Alcove supports mindfulness, restorative outdoor planning, and nature connection. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent health conditions and is not a substitute for professional mental health care.
Community Contributions
Submit only content you have the right to share. Places, photos, field notes, and sound metrics may be reviewed, edited, rejected, removed, retained, or anonymized to protect safety, accuracy, rights, and product integrity.
Friends And Activity
Invite only people you know or trust. Guided Relax sessions are private by default. Friend activity, ratings, favorites, recommendations, and shared lists are meant to support discovery and planning, not pressure, rankings, or unsafe competition. Contact matching is optional and should be used only with an address book you are authorized to access.
Sound And Activity Data
Sound metrics are opt-in, aggregate, and used for environmental context. Microphone access begins only after consent during a guided Relax session; temporary audio is deleted when sampling stops and raw audio is never uploaded. Relative dBFS values are not calibrated environmental dBA. Quiet sessions and meditations are personal activity logs and should not be treated as clinical data.
Night And Stargazing Features
Future dark-sky tools should never encourage entering closed areas, ignoring weather, trespassing, or visiting unsafe locations after dark. Use official sources and local judgment before nighttime travel.
